Since the start of my blog, I've shared some of my favorite things and techniques. But this week I have been thinking A LOT about what kind of content the hand lettering community would like to see. The cool thing about Hand Lettering is that there are SO many things that make up this creative outlet. Which means there are probably a ton of topics I may not even think of or address here! This is where YOU come in! I need your help this week, and as a thank you I have a FREE 5x7" print waiting for you in my FREEBIES section!! This print is all about how ESSENTIAL you are!
I've been hand lettering since January of 2016, and still very new to this world! I have for sure learned a lot since then! But I of course have not learned EVERYTHING! So if there is a topic you suggest that I just don't know that much about, I will do my best to provide resources that may cover that topic better than I could! There are definitely "experts" on certain subjects, so I will point you in their direction!
So I would love to ask you, what would you like to see here? Already know the topic? GREAT! Just leave me a comment at the bottom of this blog post (or on IG if you prefer!). Not sure yet? I've compiled a few topics to get that brain thinking!!!
TOPIC 1 - WHERE DO I START?
Have you just started hand lettering and are overwhelmed by how much information is out there? Let me know! Sometimes just having someone to talk to whose walked through those beginning stages can be helpful!
TOPIC 2 - PENS!
Do you have questions about pens? What kind to use? Which ones are the best? Are certain ones worth the money? Or how do I use them? I'll be as helpful as I can!!!
TOPIC 3 - TECHNIQUES!
Is there a technique you'd like to learn? Did you find something on Instagram or Pinterest that looked incredible and want to learn? Let's learn together! (there are some things that you may come across that I cannot help with - that's because some of these techniques/styles may be taught by hand lettering artists in a class setting and it has become THEIR trademark. But if it is something that is NOT learned through taking a paying class, I will for sure help you out!)
TOPIC 4 -RESOURCES!
Are there particular resources you are looking for? Worksheets? Lettering books? Certain types of classes to take? Lettering communities to follow and ask questions in? Ask away!
I hope I have your brain thinking by now! So go ahead and leave me your suggestion below, or even on Instagram! I can't wait to see what topics YOU'D like to see!!! And don't forget your FREE print as a thank you from me! Happy Friday!
Till next time,
